Poem: I Dream of Spices
                     _ Raj Arumugam


1. People say curry comes from a Tamil word ' Kari' which means sauce.
2. Pepper is also known as black gold.
3. Chinese wrote about cinnamon in 2700 BCE
4.The Greeks, Romans and Egyptians all bought cinnamon from India.
5. A food which brings Advenure in our mind is spices.
6. Spices are used in ayurvedha medications.
7. Ancient preservative is cinnamon.
8. Columbus came to find Pepper in India.
9.sugarcane was one of the earliest plant grown by Indians.
10. Black pepper was traded from Kerala coast in India.
11.In ancient times pound was the measuring unit for weighing.
